Always been a little sceptical of these sort of things, (why take a Lama for a walk)? However, turns out to be very relaxing & subliminally restorative. Booked it as an anniversary present for my wife but it was so fascinating that I forgot to take any pics throughout the whole time we were with Jester & Warrior. Thanks to Mark & Graham for provision of the whole experience

We had a fantastic experience today at Lakeland Llama Treks. It was great walking the Llamas and Alpaca around the village in a beautiful setting just below the Pennines. The llamas and alpaca are relaxing and so much fun to be around. Mark and Diane were so kind and knowledgeable about the llamas, alpacas and other animals that form part of the animal encounter. One of the nicest things was that the morning didn’t feel rushed. There was plenty of time to spend with the animals and chat to the guides. The coffee and cake in the Manor House at the end was a nice touch too. We’ll look forward to another visit, hopefully soon.

Such a great day out. Our guide was amazing and full of knowledge and talked to us about all the animals. The kids enjoyed it too and loved taking the alpaca, Frodo, and llama, Warrior, for a walk.

Absolutely incredible llama and animal experience. Started off learning about the llamas from Mark and being introduced to Warrior and Jester, after intros we took the llamas on a walk around the village and learned all sorts about them and were able to ask absolutely anything. Mark answered with fantastic knowledge. We then came back and took the llamas to the barn. After that we met the other residents including goats, a tortoise, a rabbit and the lovely Lancashire heeler dogs. Once we'd met everyone and had chance to hold/stroke/feed etc we went into the Manor house conservatory for tea/coffee and cake. Both Mark and Diane (hopefully names are right!) joined us for a drink and we had a good natter with them learning more about the llama pack and their pals. Fantastic experience for animal lovers, would highly recommend Lakeland Llama Treks for their knowledge and obvious care/love for the animals they look after.

Fun walk with the llamas round the village. The soft, thick fur kept my hands warm! They are very zen, and love munching grass! Great tea and cake after in the beautiful manor house, with stunning views.

If you're looking for a unique and memorable outdoor adventure, I highly recommend the Lakeland llama trek guided by the friendly and knowledgeable Mark. From start to finish, this experience exceeded our expectations. Mark was an excellent guide, ensuring that everyone in our group felt comfortable and engaged. He was always ready to answer our questions, sharing interesting facts about the llamas. His passion for the animals and the environment was evident and made the trek even more enjoyable. The llamas themselves were well-groomed and clearly well cared for, making the walk a pleasant and comfortable experience. Their calm and friendly demeanor added a special touch to the trek, making it a truly unique way to explore the outdoors. After the trek, we had the opportunity to visit the rest of the animals on the farm, which was a delightful bonus. It was clear that the animals are treated with love and respect, and it was heartwarming to see how much care goes into maintaining the farm. Overall, this llama trek was a fantastic experience. Whether you're an animal lover, a nature enthusiast, or just looking for something different to do, this trek with Mark is definitely worth it!

This is a must try if you are visiting Lake district. Mark who was our guide was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable and was so happy to tell us everything about llmas. I feel so educated at the end of the tour. The Llamas are well taken care of and are living a good life. It was such a calming and beautiful experience. My son's words- I would go on 10 walks if I could. Thanks Mark and thanks Mary for being so kind in responding to our queries ! Much love . Thank you

Absolutely amazing experience. Myself and the kids visited during half term. We booked on a llama trek and was rather hesitant as to what we would get for our £25 each. We well and truly got our money's worth. A fantastic walk around Melmerby with the lovely Caroline who was a very knowledgeable guide. She answered every question the kids threw at her. My son in particular was in awe of these lovely animals. A very well run family run business. It is true you do find karma in the company of a llama....needless to say the kids now want a pet llama...haha. If you get chance - do this - you wont regret it. We will visit again when we are next in the area. Even considering my daughter's birthday party here.
